Mid level virga near Lake Connewarre today the 1st of August. The photo shows precipitation falling from mid level alto cumulus, this is an example of snow generated in the mid levels and then falling to lower altitudes, after the snow sublimes or melts the precipitation does not reach the ground, this example is occurring along a weakening cold frontal band that passed over Geelong on this day.
