| A
weakening high of 1024hPa was located southeast of Tasmania with a moderate strength ridge
running up the east coast of Australia. Another ridge extended northwest towards the head
of the Great Australian Bight. A broad trough extended from central Queensland though
western New South Wales, then turned southeast from northwest Victoria to Central
Victoria. Another trough extended north - south across Western Australia with cold fronts
pushing east through the Great Australian Bight region.
